Here is how you do it
How to make it:
- Preheat your toast iron according to instructions, alternatively your oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Butter each side of the sourdough bread slices generously.
- Layer the ingredients: Start with a slice of buttered sourdough bread, add a generous amount of sliced Jarlsberg®, a few semi-dried tomatoes, some basil leaves, and a sprinkle of black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder. Repeat the layers until you have used all the bread slices.
- Top the final layer with another slice of buttered sourdough bread.
- Place the sandwich in the toast iron and cook for about 3-5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the bread is golden and crispy. OR Place the toasties on a baking tray and bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the bread is golden and crispy.
