Ingredients
  • 1 Servings
  • 2 quality sourdough bread
  • 1 tbsp butter (generous amount on each side of the bread)
  • 1 of semi-dried tomatoes
  • 1 of basil leaves
  • 8 of Jarlsberg® (or more, don´t be shy)
  • 1 of spices: a pinch of black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder
Here is how you do it

How to make it: 
 

  1. Preheat your toast iron according to instructions, alternatively your oven to 180°C (350°F). 
  2. Butter each side of the sourdough bread slices generously. 
  3. Layer the ingredients: Start with a slice of buttered sourdough bread, add a generous amount of sliced Jarlsberg®, a few semi-dried tomatoes, some basil leaves, and a sprinkle of black pepper, paprika, and garlic powder. Repeat the layers until you have used all the bread slices. 
  4. Top the final layer with another slice of buttered sourdough bread. 
  5. Place the sandwich in the toast iron and cook for about 3-5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the bread is golden and crispy. OR Place the toasties on a baking tray and bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the bread is golden and crispy.
