Ingredients
  • 1 Servings
  • 1 Quality sourdough bread
  • 1 Thick slices of Jarlsberg®
  • 1 Yellow onion
  • 6 Champignons, chantarelles, or other mushrooms
  • 1 of fresh thyme
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 1 tbsp of good butter
  • 1 salt & pepper
Here is how you do it

 

  1. Start with a yellow onion, sliced into thick 1 cm rounds.

  2. Slow-cook them in a pan until beautifully caramelized and soft.

  3. Butter both sides of a slice of sourdough bread, and toast it in the pan with a sprig of thyme and a clove of garlic for next-level flavor.

  4. Sauté mushrooms in butter until golden, tender, and bursting with umami.

  5. Stack the onions and mushrooms onto the crispy, golden bread.

  6. Now the cheesy magic: Add generous slices of Jarlsberg® to a hot pan. When the bottom turns crispy and the top starts to melt, flip it onto the toast like a gooey, golden blanket.

🌿 Finish with freshly ground pepper and a few red berries for a pop of color and flavor.
