These bratwurst sliders are perfect for game day: savory, cheesy, and with delicious hoppy flavors.
In a deep frying skillet or cast iron skillet heat 3 tbsp.butter on medium-high heat. Add onions and bratwurst. Cook until onions are soft. Add beer and simmer until evaporated completely, allowing onions and bratwurst to brown evenly.
In the meantime, make Jarlsberg® cheese sauce by melting 2 tbsp. butter in a small saucepan and whisking in flour. Whisk on medium heat until browned. Slowly whisk milk and allow to thicken, about 3-4 minutes. Mix in Jarlsberg® cheese until smooth. Add hot sauce, if desired.
Toast buns or rolls with butter. Cut bratwurst to the same size as the rolls or buns and place them in the bun with onions. Drizzle plenty of cheese sauce on top and serve with leftover cheese on the side.
