For the third time Canada is organising the Olympic Games, but this is the first time the Olympics
will be held in the state of British Columbia. Over 80 nations and 15 different sports
are represented. Either you have a favorite team you cheer for or you just love the
sports represented, an Olympic Championship is always something special. Norway has
been lucky enough to host the Olympics Games twice. First time in 1952, and last time in 1994.
In 1956, a team from the Agricultural University of Norway, concluded their research on how to make
a soft, mediumfat cheese with holes. The new cheese was named after the county, Jarlsberg,
where the earlier version had been made at the beginning of the 19th century. A new
cheese category was established.
The export of Jarlsberg started cautiously in 1961. Today, TINE sells more than 25,000 tonnes of
Jarlsberg worldwide. Jarlsberg is primarily known for it’s unique taste
and premium quality. This due to the always premium milk chosen and the secret recipe used in
the making of the cheese. Each Jarlsberg wheel is matured for months, turned by hand, and looked after
as gold medal candidates in the making. Giving you a unique versatile premium cheese that works equally
well for snacking as for cooking.
We wish you and all the competing athletes at the games the best of luck!
Go for gold!
