Environmental Policy

The average farm has only 18 cows and farmers have a close relationship with their cattle. Thanks to good treatment and a favourable climate, Norwegian milk is amongst the best and purest in the world.
Modern principles
The Norwegian dairy industry is based on modern principles, using advanced technology. Some of our dairies are fully automated, though we never forget the importance of traditional craftsmanship and the long traditions of dairy production in Norway. Our export dairies and Head Office are certified according to the NS-EN ISO 9001-2000 standard.
An environmentally friendly industry
"The dairy industry must strive to be a profitable and environmentally friendly industry characterised by pure
products of high quality, a clean environment and use of environmentally friendly technology." (TINE's
Environment Objective, 1988)
TINE BA is particularly committed to heightening environmental
awareness. When establishing new products
or assessing new production technology etc., environmental assessments form important criteria on
which to base our decisions. As milk is the main raw material for TINE BA, we have an interest in
protecting nature so that we can provide pure, high-quality products in the future.
TINE Dairies draw their values from a melding of nature, agriculture and the market. TINE Dairies process pure, natural raw materials into good, healthy food products that are preferred by consumers, and the dairies are the country's leading supplier of food products.
Based on this vision, we wish to be known as a company:
- that represents an important formation of values in production and refinement throughout the country.
- that establishes these values in a proper balance between environmental considerations and the use of resources.
- that employs skilled and motivated workers in an environmentally friendly company, which is ever looking towards safeguarding the future and the opportunities of the future.
