Paprika Marinated Jarlsberg

In a mood for a snack or an appetizer? This cheese is a treat and it makes a beautiful gift for any cheese lover. Make small jars and give as a homemade presents.

Ingredients

400 g / 0,8 lb Jarlsberg
2 dl / 1 cup olive oil
0,5 dl / 1/4 cup wine vinegar
½ red paprika
10 basil leaves
2 garlic cloves
1 tsp salt
2 tsp rose pepper whole

How to do

  1. Cut Jarlsberg in sugar cube sized pieces. Mark the cubes with a fork to allow the marinade to permeate more easily. Place in a jar. Mix all ingredients for the marinade and pour over the  cheese. It is important that the marinade covers the cheese.  Let rest for at least 4 hours, but we recommend a couple of days before serving.
  2. Serve at room temperature as a snack, appetizer or as a part of the cheese buffet.
  3. You may use the marinade as a salad dressing.
